5 Sluice Gates in Jakarta Showing on Alert-III Status

Heavy rain that showered Bogor since Wednesday (11/19) afternoon, causing water level in several sluice gates in Jakarta rising.

Based on the Jakarta Disaster and Crisis Management Center (Pusdalops)'s data, 5 out of 12 sluice gates show on alert-III status.

Ratman, a member of Jakarta Disaster and Crisis Management Center disclosed his side keeps monitoring water level in some sluice gates. According to monitoring results at 6 PM, water level at 5 sluice shows on alert-III status. They are Manggarai (750 cm), Karet (450 cm), Krukut Hulu (155 cm), Angku Hulu (170 cm), and Pasar Ikan (190 cm). "There are five sluice gates showing on alert-III status," he told, Thursday (11/20).

While water level at 7 other sluice gates reached alert-IV status. They are Katulampa (40 cm), Depok (170 cm), Pesanggrahan (60 cm), Cipinang Hulu (100 cm), Sunter Hulu (70 cm), Pulo Gadung (365 cm), and Pluit Dam (-190 cm).

He mentions at 8 PM yesterday, the Katulampa Sluice Gate had touched 190 cm or alert-II status. After a few hours, Depok Sluice Gate reached 330 cm or alert-II status. "But now both gates are in a safe position or alert-IV status," he disclosed. 

Some urban villages that passed by Ciliwung River are flooded. Among them are Cawang, Bidara Cina, Kampung Pulo, Bukit Duri, and Kampung Melayu. "We're still doing collection data to find out which areas are flooded," he reported.
